Walking in Scotland, Walking in Annan & Dumfries and Galloway

Annan and the surrounding area can offer the walker routes that can be enjoyed the whole year round.  From the shorter town walks to the longer river and forest trails there is some thing for everyone to enjoy   Annan is situated on the Solway coast and  has  a circular shore walk that starts from the town centre.

Just a bit further a field there are walks all along the Solway coast and not forgetting the Forestry Commission sites including Mabie and Ae

The Old Rectory is a member of the Walkers Welcome scheme and we can provide;

• a separate space is available for drying outdoor clothing and footwear so clothes can dry overnight;
  
• a hot drink can be available on arrival;
  
• An early breakfast option from 7 am, or for very early leavers a tray the night before;
  
• A packed lunch - should you request one - or your flask filled;
  
• Local walking routes information, local public transport and a weather forecast for visitor reference
