Sustrans National Cycle Route, Lands End to John O’Groats LEJOG
The Old Rectory is a member of the Visitscotland Cyclist welcome scheme so we are able to offer you the following to cyclsits




SUSTRANS (National Cycle Route) crosses the region linking Carlisle, Gretna, Eastriggs, Annan and Dumfries. The Annandale and Eskdale regions offer many miles of quiet country roads for the cyclist and visitor. Within a radius of roughly 35 miles the district offers easy cycling on the flat coastal farm land and moderate upland cycling as you travel north into the hills and forests. National Cycle route 7 passes through Annan from Carlisle to Inverness. And near by route 74 takes off north ward toward Lockerbie , Abington and on to Glasgow. Cycle Route 7 moves from Carlisle through Annan. The route takes the coast road to Dumfries then in land via Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet and on to Ayr.
Dumfries and Galloway has everything that a cyclist could ask for.



The 7 Stanes has nearly 400km of world-
Scotland, including the 7 stanes is ranked among the best in
the world by the the international Mountain Bicycling Association. The Association's
People's Choice poll called it "one of the hottest places to ride in the world".
Mabbie
and Ae are the closest trails to the Old Rectory, however Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie
are close enough to take advantage of.
